this is not the preferred way to go.

Try to follow the steps at http://www.koanlogic.com/klone/tut.html ,  
you'll find it far more easy and cheap.

Specifically, what you need is adding the location of your toolchain  
file to the bootstrap Makefile, e.g. in case the tc file is in the  
same directory as the Makefile:

KLONE_CUSTOM_TC = $(CURDIR)/tricore.tc
